Booking & Scheduling
How do I schedule a ride?
Use the Book a Ride form on this website or call us at (517) 939-0170. A coordinator confirms your pickup time, vehicle type and price before the trip.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking 24 to 48 hours ahead, especially for wheelchair, stretcher or bariatric rides. Same-day and hospital discharge requests are accommodated whenever a vehicle is available, so call us for real-time availability.
Can I set up recurring rides for dialysis, chemotherapy or therapy?
Yes. We set up standing reservations for dialysis (for example Mon/Wed/Fri shifts), chemotherapy, radiation, wound care and physical therapy. Whenever possible we assign the same familiar driver for consistency and comfort.
What if my appointment ends earlier or later than expected?
Choose Will Call and simply call us when you are ready, and we dispatch the nearest vehicle. For shorter visits you can choose Wait and Return, where your driver stays on-site for the duration of the appointment.
Vehicles & Equipment
Do you transport power wheelchairs and bariatric wheelchairs?
Yes. Our wheelchair-accessible vans use ramps or hydraulic lifts and 4-point wheelchair tie-down systems with lap and shoulder belts, so manual, power and many bariatric chairs can be transported without transferring out of the chair. Let us know the chair type and weight when booking.
Do you offer stretcher transportation?
Yes. Stretcher transportation is available for patients who cannot sit upright for the trip, such as after surgery or for hospital discharges and facility transfers. Our trained two-person crews handle safe, dignified transfers.
Can you transport portable oxygen?
Yes. Vehicles have secure holders for portable oxygen cylinders and concentrators. Please mention oxygen when you book so the right vehicle is prepared.
Can a family member or caregiver ride along?
Yes. One family member, caregiver or service animal can typically ride along with the passenger. Tell us when booking so seating can be arranged.
Insurance, Billing & Payment
Does insurance, Medicare or Medicaid cover non-emergency medical transportation?
It depends on your plan. Original Medicare generally does not cover routine non-emergency rides, while Michigan Medicaid health plans, some Medicare Advantage plans, workers compensation and auto no-fault policies may cover or reimburse eligible trips. Call us with your plan details and we will help you understand your options. We provide itemized receipts for reimbursement.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept private pay (major credit and debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards where eligible) and facility billing accounts for hospitals, clinics and senior living communities.
Are prices quoted upfront?
Yes. You receive a clear quote based on trip distance, service type and any extra assistance before you confirm. There are no surprise fees.
Is this an emergency ambulance service?
No. Wellpath Mobility provides scheduled non-emergency medical transportation only. In a medical emergency, always call 911.
